You have reached the second trimester of your beautiful
journey. At this point your baby will be about 3.5 inches long and
approximately weigh about 40-50 gms. Tiny fingerprints are almost ready now and
the skeleton is taking its shape. By the end of this trimester your baby will
also develop his hearing skills. Yes it is time to play some good music
everyday for your little one. Here are some of the other things you would for
your 4 months pregnancy.
1. Avoid
sudden movements and jerks
Now as the baby inside you is growing and
various organs develop your body too will start getting similar effects. Your
uterus will expand and so will your heart and liver to fit the uterus. Hence
you are advised not to make sudden movements in the coming months. Hence be
slow and patient while you do all your household chores. Also, avoid climbing
on stools; if there is a need then ensure that the stool is well balanced and
supported.
2. Concept
of ‘eating for two’ is a myth
If you have heard people tell you that
you need to eat more then remember that it is a myth. Whatever you eat is
sufficient for the baby to grow. Baby will take enough nutrients from you.
However, you should not stay hungry but eat healthy and nutritious food.
3. Sleep
on your left side
Sleeping on your left side will increase
the blood circulation in your body. It will not only keep you relaxed and
ensure a peaceful sleep but it will also ensure that there is enough blood
circulation in the uterus as well, thus allowing the baby to grow.
4. Cravings
and smells
By this time of the journey your body
will have developed strong smell and taste buds. You will also start getting
cravings. Do note that cravings might not necessarily be for your favourite
food but it can be of anything. Most of the women crave for chocolates and yes
do not kill the cravings, enjoy them. You might start loving or hating some
strong smells like that of garlic, coffee, alcohol and such others. If you like
then enjoy the aroma if you don’t then be away from them. Nothing to worry,
just enjoy the journey.
5. Increase
in sexual arousal
All these months you were exhausted
because of morning sickness and nausea; yes its an end to it now and hence you
are more relaxed. Also, there is an increase estrogen hormone which increases
the sexual desires. There is nothing wrong in it; go ahead and enjoy with your
partner (after taking your mid-wife’s permission).
Some of the women also suffer from
frequent headaches in this month. If you are facing then try to relax yourself,
breathe fresh air and if still nothing works then talk to your gynac, she will
help you out.
